There are a small number of people testing for whom a product like ViveTool has a place.
But I am against far wider suggestions people use it to test things that often are not enabled for good reason, and in this case case is rather pointless switching on.
IMO that just encourages using a tool which risks causing more damage when people play around with things they shouldn't be.
